This year, we're celebrating "Honor the Past, Plan for the Future" Urban Edge has been a leader in making Roxbury, Jamaica Plain, and Greater Boston a great place to live, learn, work, and invest. As the transformation of Egleston/Jackson continues, we will take a moment to reflect on the work our community is doing.

The 2020 Peter Lee Community Builder Award winner is presented to Richard Thal, Executive Director of Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Development Corporation (JPNDC). As you know, our dear friend is retiring this year after more than 30 years in the community development movement. Since becoming JPNDC's Executive Director in 1994, he has grown JPNDC into one of the largest and most successful community-based development organizations in Massachusetts, as well as a trusted partner to all in the field.

We are pleased to present the 2020 Ron Hafer Employee of the Year Award to Community Engagement Officer Leneva Penton. Leneva's peers and Urban Edge's Board of Directors chose Leneva because of the work she does with the families living in Egleston/Jackson, especially older adults. She is also recognized for overseeing our free tax preparation program, which files returns for more than 500 taxpayers each year, injecting more than $1M back into our local economy.

We can also offer you Community Investment Tax Credits (CITC) for your sponsorship. Simply put, as part of your sponsorship, for gifts $1,000 and greater, you receive a 50% tax credit from the Commonwealth.
